The Workplace and Communities Unit operates educational interventions as individual projects. Each operates with its own Coordinator, budget, curricula, schedule and expected outcomes. This allows for a very high degree of customisation to fit corporate or community needs and peculiarity.
Notwithstanding, each project is organised into several critical steps to ensure success:
Assessments of the sponsors and learners needs are critical to ensuring the intervention’s suitability to task and budget and drive the formulation of the project plan and budget
The execution phase is managed as a project with both operational and academic metrics being tracked to ensure maximum return on investment for the sponsor and maximum learning gains for the learner
Feedback is a critical component involving the necessary teacher/learner interactions in reports and discussion. Additionally all workplace and community interventions are subject to reporting procedures, schedules and review to ensure that project sponsors can track their costs and outcomes tightly against stated and budgeted metrics.
At the completion of the intervention learners are tested and certified by the JFLL or the certification body that administers the final examinations (e.g. CXC).
